TaliMar Income Fund I is a private mortgage REIT, also known as a mREIT, that focuses on funding short term residential and commercial real estate loans. Because the mortgage fund is structured as a REIT, the fund offers investors several tax advantages. Those tax advantages include the 20% Tax Deduction (QBIT) investors receive on the monthly distributions, regardless of their income. Additionally, investors using qualified retirement plans are not subject to Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT). And finally, investors are only subject to tax withholdings in their state of residency versus where the income was generated.
